The Sugar Act No. 11 of 2024 established the Kenya Sugar Board with a mandate to regulate, develop and promote the sugar industry, co-ordinate the activities of the value chain actors within the industry and facilitate equitable access to the benefits and resources of the industry by all interested parties. Section 4 Subsection 2 (a) of the Act provides that the Board shall formulate a strategic plan for sugar sub-sector at least once every five (5) years.
To operationalize this Section, the Board has developed draft Strategic Plan 2025-2027 that will guide in the administration and operationalization of the Sugar Act, No. 11 of 2024 for the next three (3) years.
In line with Article 10(2)(a) of the Constitution of Kenya, the Board through this notice hereby invites agriculture sector stakeholders and members of the general public to provide their feedback on the Board’s draft 2025 – 2027 Strategic Plan.
