The Kenya Sugar Board (KSB) will conduct the Grower Representative Elections on 25th June 2026, marking a significant milestone in strengthening grower participation and representation within Kenya’s sugar sector. The elections will provide sugarcane growers across the country’s sugar catchment areas with an opportunity to elect their representatives to the Board in line with the provisions of the Sugar Act No. 11 of 2024.

As part of the preparations for the elections, the Board will undertake the Grower Registration Exercise starting tomorrow, 25th May to 1st June 2026 through designated polling centres across all sugar-growing regions. The exercise is aimed at ensuring that only eligible growers are registered and properly mapped to their respective polling centres ahead of the elections.

The exercise will be conducted through the Mkulima OnBoard platform, the official Kenya Sugar Board system designed to support transparent, secure and credible registration of sugarcane growers ahead of the elections.

Eligibility Requirements

(a) National Identification document (ID/Passport);

(b) Proof of sugarcane payment, supply statements or a current permit for any one (1) month within the twenty-four (24) month period preceding the date of elections, except for farmers in the Coastal Catchment Area. Verification of the latter may be through cane delivery records, supply contracts, or farmer account details where applicable.

Registration is conducted physically at designated polling centres. Only registered growers will participate in the elections.

The Kenya Sugar Board urges all eligible sugarcane growers to register within the set period and secure their right to vote in the elections scheduled for 25th June 2026.

For more information and to check your polling centre, growers and stakeholders are encouraged to visit the Kenya Sugar Board website, Mkulima OnBoard, and follow official Kenya Sugar Board social media platforms for updates.
