Building Prosperity Through Sugar
The Kenya Sugar Board focuses on supporting the growth and sustainability of Kenya’s sugar industry for the benefit of the economy and communities in Kenya.
About the Kenya Sugar Board
The Kenya Sugar Board (KSB) is a state corporation established under the Sugar Act No. 11 of 2024 and mandated to develop, regulate, and promote the sugar industry.
The newly signed law re-establishes the Kenya Sugar Board, restoring roles that were previously managed by the Sugar Directorate of the Agriculture and Food Authority.
KSB plays a crucial role in promoting the development of the sugar industry in Kenya and ensuring that it remains a vital contributor to the country’s economy. The board operates under the Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock Development and is responsible for regulating as well as implementing policies and strategies to enhance the production, processing, and marketing of sugar. The Kenya Sugar Board works closely with other government agencies, sugar millers, farmers, and other stakeholders to ensure that the sugar industry in Kenya operates efficiently and sustainably.
